Leadership transition follows Acuity Trading’s strategic investment and marks the next stage in MarketReader’s growth as a real-time market-move attribution platform

MarketReader, the AI-powered platform that explains why financial markets move in real time, has appointed Andrew Lane as Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment follows Acuity Trading’s strategic investment in MarketReader and supports the company’s next phase of growth as demand increases for faster, clearer and more defensible explanations of market activity.

MarketReader Co-Founder Jens Nordvig will move into a strategic board role where he will continue to support the company’s direction, product vision, institutional relationships and long-term growth strategy.

The move reflects a planned leadership transition designed to help MarketReader scale while preserving the original mission behind the company: helping professional users understand not only what has moved in financial markets, but why.

MarketReader was built to solve a specific problem for institutional market professionals, research teams, advisers and financial platforms: answering the question “why did this move?” quickly, consistently and with professional-grade context. The company is positioned as a real-time attribution layer for market moves, not a signals product, news feed or opinion service.

Andrew Lane brings extensive experience in AI-driven market intelligence, financial technology, product delivery and commercial growth through his role as CEO of Acuity Trading. His appointment will support MarketReader’s continued development across institutional investment teams, advisory firms, compliance-sensitive environments and API-first financial platforms.

MarketReader’s core audience includes institutional market professionals who need fast, defensible explanations for price action, including RIAs, hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, research teams, wealth firms, enterprise users and platforms embedding market explanations into their own workflows.

Jens Nordvig and Web Begole co-founded MarketReader with the aim of bringing structure, speed and explainability to market analysis. The platform connects price action with macro, news, correlation and behavioural data to help users understand the likely drivers behind unusual market moves.

As CEO, Andrew Lane will focus on scaling the business, strengthening product delivery, supporting institutional and platform relationships, and building on MarketReader’s position in real-time market-move attribution.

Andrew Lane, CEO of MarketReader;

“MarketReader has been built around one of the most important questions in financial markets: why did this move? Jens and Web have created a platform that brings clarity to a problem every professional market participant recognises.

“It is a privilege to take on the CEO role at this point in MarketReader’s journey. My focus will be on helping the company scale with discipline, commercial focus and product ambition, while protecting the clarity and intellectual strength that made MarketReader distinctive from the start.

“This is about building on the foundations Jens and Web created and helping MarketReader reach more professional users who need faster, clearer and more structured market explanations.”

Jens Nordvig will remain closely involved with MarketReader through his new board role. His focus will include strategic oversight, institutional relationships, product direction and the broader market questions shaping the future of financial intelligence.

The transition allows Jens to continue contributing his experience as a market strategist, founder and data-led financial technology leader, while giving the company additional executive capacity as it expands.

Jens Nordvig, Co-Founder of MarketReader;

“MarketReader has always been driven by the need to explain market movements quickly, clearly and without unnecessary noise. That mission remains unchanged.

“Andrew and the Acuity team bring the commercial experience, product thinking and data science capability to help MarketReader move into its next chapter. My role now is to support that growth from the board, helping guide the strategy, share experience and continue shaping the thinking behind the company.

Acuity Trading’s strategic investment gives MarketReader access to additional commercial, product and data science expertise while supporting broader distribution opportunities across professional financial markets.

The two businesses bring complementary capabilities. MarketReader explains what is moving and why, while Acuity Trading adds forward-looking market, event and trade intelligence that helps users understand what may matter next. Together, the two companies are creating a more complete decision-support layer for professional market participants.

The relationship is designed to support MarketReader’s institutional-first positioning while giving the company additional resources to accelerate growth, refine delivery and bring its real-time market explanations into more professional workflows.

MarketReader’s platform is designed for users who need to move quickly from price movement to explanation. This includes investment teams preparing internal analysis, advisers answering client questions, research professionals monitoring volatility, compliance-sensitive teams reviewing market context, and financial platforms embedding explanations directly into their own products.

Rather than adding another stream of headlines, MarketReader focuses on market interpretation and attribution. Its role is to help users connect market movement with the data and context most likely to explain it.

The leadership transition and Acuity Trading investment mark the next stage in MarketReader’s development as the company continues to build its role in professional market intelligence.
